New ZyWALL Firmware Update

A free update aimed at making deployment easier, 90 other improvements

New Delhi: ZyXEL Communications has announced the new ZyWALL ZLD v2.20 firmware solution for its Unified Security Product Series. The update is meant to make deployment easy, improve performance and lower operating cost.

The new firmware provides more than 90 improved and new features. The ZyWALL USG Series offers Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall, anti-virus, Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP), content filtering, anti-spam and VPN (IPSec/SSL/L2TP).

The firmware tries to make deployment of ZyWALL USG firewall appliances on business and enterprise networks easier. User interface has been changed to achieve this. It also has claims to have improved routing architecture. Plus it also boasts End Point Security supports for anti-virus security checks and personal firewall software.

In addition granular control over social networking applications has also been added.

Other features include:

Hybrid VPN capabilities, in addition to the SSL VPN support for Windows 7.

Comprehensive MS Active Directory integration.
